Synopsis[]

Outside the Ichinose Academy, Nariyuki is consulted by Fumino about a woman's heart and he takes notes. Right when the two were about to head to class, Fumino trips and Nariyuki catches her. Fumino briefly feels relieved that nobody witnessed the accident, that is until she sees an upset Rizu approach them.

Afterward in the school, Fumino reflects on Rizu's reaction to what she witnessed that morning between Nariyuki and her. A flashback to that morning, reveals that Rizu looked rather upset and both Fumino and Nariyuki notice this. Moreso Fumino, who believes Rizu is furious at what she witnessed between the two. Rizu then goes over to Nariyuki and tightly grabs onto his shirt, to which, Fumio interprets as a mother bird protecting its nest from predators. Taking advantage of the situation, Fumio advises Nariyuki to escort Rizu into the school. Although shocked by this, he still does so and inside the school notes how embarrassing it is. Nevertheless, Fumio reassures him that it'll help improve Rizu's mood.

Back to the present, Fumio wonders if Rizu is still mad. She then briefly eavesdrops on a conversation between Nariyuki and Rizu. Believing that Rizu was cross examing Nariyuki about that morning, Fumino abruptly rushes over to the two and pushes Nariyuki into Rizu. This causes Nariyuki to fall face-first into Rizu's chest flustering her. Later, Rizu reprimands the two and explains that her dad broke her glasses that morning forcing her to wear an old inferior pair of hers.

Days later, Nariyuki reads a book about the Tennis Court Oath while walking home from school. Internally, he notes that it's imperative that he starts devoting his time to his personal studies. Suddenly, Nariyuki finds a cat stuck up a tree. As he tries to rescue it, Kirisu appears and the cat leaps down from the tree. With brisk reflexes, she catches the cat, but in doing so twists her ankle. Using Nariyuki as support, the two walk to her apartment. On the way there, Kirisu chastises herself for what she did. Finally reaching her apartment, Kirisu enters her apartment and the two-part ways with each other. That is until Nariyuki hears a loud collapsing noise and after making an executive decision goes into her apartment. Inside there he finds it to be an absolute mess, with Kirisu buried underneath a pile of books.

Sometime after helping, Kirisu from underneath the messy pile, Nariyuki sits by a small table in Kirisu's bedroom. There, he waits to be served some tea as a token of gratitude for helping her from underneath the pile of books. As Nariyuki waits, he thinks that Kirisu must wear mature clothing when not dressed for school. To his astonished, she simply wears a highschool suit and serves him coffee instead of tea. They have a brief conversation about Kirisu's clothing, which leads to her tutoring Nariyuki on history. Nariyuki notes how thoughtful and easy to understand Kirisu's tutoring is; not only that, but she was kind enough to make coffee for him as well. This leads Nariyuki to think, that Kirisu is a caring teacher. Two hours fly by and after a scene where Nariyuki picks up a bra that was lying around Kirisu's room. Nariyuki adamantly decides to clean up her apartment, whereas, Kirisu interpreted it as him trying to court her. Just about when they finish cleaning the room, Nariyuki accidentally uncovers a trophy case filled with many trophies inside of it. A picture inside the case reveals that she was once a pro figure skater, but Kirisu covers the case back up and refuses to talk about it. She then notes the ephemeral nature of being a figure skater. Kirisu then discloses a story of how there was once a girl who indulged in figure skating so much that it emotionally broke her when it was over. To her, the trophy case is a symbol of self-admonition, and because of this, she guides her students toward the path of which their talents lie best in. When asked about the topic, Nariyuki responds that he can't really answer the question properly as he's just a student. He does, however, note the diligence of others who do try in earnest to strive to be better in the fields they lack in. This is order to succeed in their goals that are related to what they're weakest in while complimenting and encouraging them too. It's then noted that they're the antithesis of one another.

By nightfall, Nariyuki leaves Kirisu's apartment and as he leaves the usual uptight Kirisu is shown to be flush and flustered. Revealing that she was completely anxious the entire time Nariyuki was there. Back inside her room, Kirisu internally states that Nariyuki was the first man inside her room. Furthermore, she believes that for now on, she'll keep her place tidier and notes that she never thought she'd use the mugs that she got from a wedding before.

The following day, Fumino learns from Nariyuki that he was in Kirisu's apartment the day before. Nariyuki calmly states to an attentive Fumino that Kirisu isn't a bad person. On the other hand, Fumino is completely disconcerted that Nariyuki went to Kirisu's apartment. Internally, Fumino notes that if Rizu or Uruka find out that Nariyuki was in Kirisu's apartment; she's then interrupted by Nariyuki who gives a sort of carefree comment towards the situation. Just the school Uruka and Rizu meet in the hallway close to where Fumino and Nariyuki are located at. Uruka asks Rizu if she's seen Nariyuki around, to which, she hasn't. Fumino then drags Nariyuki over to a big lone tree by the track field. There, she admonishes Nariyuki from telling anyone that he was at Kirisu's apartment. Furthermore, she reinforces that it's the third exercise to understand a woman's heart. Nariyuki although perplexed, understands. Unbeknownst to the two, they were being watched by someone.

Afterward, Fumino sits at her desk in classroom 3-A and laments over Nariyuki's well being since there's a nasty rumor going around about him. It's then that a trio of girls named Kashima, Inomori, and Chono approach Fumino and ask if she's dating Nariyuki. The question perplexes Fumino as the three girls explain the place is a popular site for couples. Astonished by this revelation, Fumino then tries to clarify the situation to the trio. But she's interrupted by a few boys in the classroom who talk over her, about the rumored girl that Nariyuki stole a kiss from was Fumino. Earnestly, Fumino bluntly states to the girls that Nariyuki is only her tutor and there's nothing between them. The man in question then appears in the classroom and says that it'll just be them that day. Nariyuki's ill-timed appearance has Fumino dejected, which, perplexes Nariyuki. Immediately, the trio of girls then approaches Nariyuki and ask if his relationship with Fumino is special. In his response, after ruminating over it, Nariyuki answers that it is which leaves the trio looking rhapsodic and Fumino even more dejected. Fumino then tries to deny Nariyuki's statement, but he in question, picks up her bag and heads off while saying they have much work to get done. A frantic Fumino follows him, while the trio of girls watches with enthusiasm.

At the library, both Nariyuki and Fumino sit at their usual table and begin their study routine. At least Nariyuki was, Fumino, on the other hand, ruminates on how everyone in her class thinks that Nariyuki and her are a couple. Furthermore, what Rizu and Uruka's thoughts would be when they hear about the nasty rumor about Nariyuki and her. Just then a girl sits at their table closing a big between them and it's also noticed that the library is strangely occupied. This occupation is revealed to be a reconnaissance mission set up by the trio of girls that approached Fumino in her class. Their goal is to determine whether or not Nariyuki is a proper boyfriend for their "Princess" Fumino. Back to the library, Fumino asks Nariyuki a question related to Kirisu, but Nariyuki brushes it off and notes that she's making simple mistakes on her math work. He then advises her about how overthinking math calculations can be hindering on the mind. Filled with determination, Fumino doubles down on herself and engrosses herself in her math work. The girls there note how platonic Fumino and Nariyuki's interaction with each other is and decide to study too.

The following day, Nariyuki and Fumino walk to school and Nariyuki notes that Fumino looks tired. She claims she is and internally recalls how she completely forgot about the nasty rumor because she studied so hard the night before. Soon, the two run into Kashima, and a flustered Fumino tries to explain to her that she merely ran into him and they started walking with each other. Kashima believes Fumino and goes on her way, which relieves Fumino and perplexes Nariyuki. In Kashima's internal monologue, she claims that Fumino's relationship with Nariyuki is mainly run on trust and transcends the boyfriend-girlfriend barrier.

At Fumino and Nariyuki's usual spot just outside the school, Fumino informs Nariyuki about the rumor about the two. Nariyuki apologizes and Fumino asks if they should go out for real, but instantly retracts it claiming she was joking. However, Nariyuki is notably flustered by this and Fumino is adamant she'd never fall in love with someone whose friends love instead.
